My mission is to provide you with compassionate support and guidance as you navigate the pain of loss—whether it's the passing of a loved one, the end of a relationship, a job change, or the challenges of dementia and Alzheimer’s. You do not have to face it alone—I am here to walk beside you.
My name is Chelsea Stanfield, and my journey into grief coaching is deeply rooted in my years of experience as a bedside nurse. I have spent countless hours caring for individuals and their families during some of their most vulnerable and heartbreaking moments. I have witnessed firsthand the immense pain, sadness, and uncertainty that accompanies the loss of a loved one. In those moments, I saw not only the physical and emotional toll of grief but also the profound need for compassionate support and guidance.
Over time, I came to understand that grief extends far beyond the death of a loved one. People grieve the loss of a job, the end of a marriage or relationship, major life transitions, and especially the slow and painful changes that come with dementia and Alzheimer’s. Each type of loss brings its own unique challenges and emotional weight.
Recognizing the depth of this need, I felt a strong calling to do more—to walk alongside those who are navigating the difficult path of loss and healing.
This led me to pursue a Master’s degree in Human Services Counseling from Liberty University, where I deepened my understanding of the emotional and psychological impact of grief. I then became a Master Certified Grief Coach, equipping myself with the tools and knowledge necessary to provide meaningful support to those who feel lost in the aftermath.
Grief is a deeply personal experience, and I am dedicated to creating a safe and understanding space where you can process your emotions, find healing, and move forward at your own pace.

Grief is the deep emotional response to loss, often experienced when someone we love dies, but it can also arise from other significant life changes, such as the end of a relationship, loss of health, or a major life transition. It is a natural and personal process that affects individuals emotionally, mentally, physically, and even spiritually.
Grief is not a single emotion—it is a complex journey of sadness, longing, confusion, anger, guilt, and even moments of relief or peace. It is not something to be "fixed" or "moved on from," but rather a process of learning to live with loss while finding a way forward.
Grief looks different for everyone, and there is no right or wrong way to experience it. Some people find comfort in memories, while others seek support through community, personal reflection, or professional guidance.
Grief is not limited to death—it can begin long before a loved one passes. When someone you love is living with dementia or Alzheimer’s, you may find yourself grieving in ways that are difficult to name or understand. This is known as anticipatory grief—a deep sense of sorrow that arises as you witness the gradual loss of the person you once knew.
The grieving process in dementia is unique. It often involves mourning the loss of memories, communication, shared experiences, and even your loved one’s sense of self. Caregivers may also experience ambiguous loss, where the person is physically present but psychologically or emotionally changed.
These forms of grief can be just as painful and confusing as grief after death. That’s why compassionate support is so important—not only to honor your emotions, but to help you find moments of peace, connection, and meaning along the way.

When someone you love is diagnosed with dementia or Alzheimer’s, life changes in ways you never expected. The grief begins early — not just after a loss, but throughout the journey. You may feel overwhelmed by medical terminology, unsure of what to expect in each stage, and emotionally exhausted as you try to hold everything together.
As a nurse, Master Grief Coach, and someone who has personally walked this path, I understand the weight you’re carrying. I created A Pathway to Peace to help you not only cope — but find clarity, strength, and support during this difficult time.
Through one-on-one coaching, I will:
You are not alone — and you don’t have to navigate this in the dark. Let’s walk this path together with compassion, knowledge, and peace.
At A Pathway to Peace, we understand that the loss of a pet is a profound and often misunderstood grief. Pets are not "just animals"—they are family, companions, and sources of unconditional love. Whether your pet was with you for years or only a short time, their absence can leave an emotional void that is both deep and disorienting.
The bond between humans and animals is powerful. Our pets offer love without judgment, comfort without words, and companionship through life’s ups and downs. Losing that presence can be devastating—yet many people feel they must grieve in silence, afraid others won’t understand.
At A Pathway to Peace, we recognize that:
Through one-on-one grief coaching, I create a safe, compassionate space for you to express your emotions, process your grief, and honor the life of your pet. Together, we can:
Whether your loss is fresh or years old, your grief matters.
If you're struggling with the loss of a pet, please know that you are not alone—and you do not have to walk this path in silence.
Healing from grief does not mean forgetting—it means learning to carry love and loss together in a way that allows life to continue with meaning and purpose.
Grief comes in many forms. It’s not just the loss of a loved one—it can be the loss of a relationship, a job, a sense of identity, or the slow, painful changes that come with dementia and Alzheimer’s. These types of loss can be just as deep and life-altering, even if they aren’t always recognized or understood by others.
Grief is not about letting go—it’s about learning to carry love forward in a new way. Healing doesn’t mean forgetting; it means finding the strength to honor the past while embracing the future. You are not alone on this journey, and hope is still ahead.
Grief changes us, but it doesn’t have to define us. Healing from loss is not about "moving on"—it's about learning to carry pain and love together, in a way that allows us to live fully again. People heal in different ways—through reflection, connection, personal growth, and sometimes by discovering new purpose in their pain. Whether your grief is sudden or slow, visible or silent, healing often begins by embracing both sorrow and joy, honoring memories while making space for new experiences.

Grief is a deeply personal and complex journey, and navigating it alone can feel overwhelming. As a Grief Coach, I provide compassionate support, guidance, and practical tools to help individuals process their loss and move forward in a way that honors their unique experience.
Grief isn’t always tied to death. It can come from many life changes—the end of a relationship, the loss of a job, a shift in identity, or the emotional toll of watching a loved one decline due to dementia or Alzheimer’s. These forms of grief can be just as profound, and they deserve the same understanding and care.
Unlike therapy, which focuses on diagnosing and treating mental health conditions, grief coaching is a forward-focused, non-clinical approach. It’s designed to help you understand your emotions, build coping strategies, and find meaning after loss—whatever form that loss has taken.
Whether you are grieving a loved one, a pet, a marriage, a career, your sense of self, or a life you once knew, I provide a safe and supportive space where your pain is acknowledged and your healing is nurtured.
